Scholarships

Last year (September 2021) the Sac Cultural Hub Media Foundation presented an endowment of $1,000 in the name of a fallen community angel, DANA MAESHIA, Founder and Executive Director of Escape Velocity Foundation to present scholarship awards to their students.

The Young Exceptional Women of Color (Y-EWOC) Scholarship Competition helps assist several young women of color, ages 14-21, with a $500 award toward higher education. The goal of the scholarship is to encourage young women of color to pursue their dreams and secure the education and skills needed to make them a reality. Every year the winners of scholarships are announced at the annual Exceptional Women of Color Conference.

  • Plan to pursue some type of higher education, be it at a university, college or vocational school
  • Demonstrate work/service in the community
  • Respond to the essay question or create a video, “What Makes an Exceptional Woman of Color?”
